We will meet at the indicated time at Esplanadi Park, where a bus will be waiting to take us to the coastal city of Porvoo, connected to Gulf of Finland via the river Porvoo. Our journey will take you into the heart of this ancient city, famous for its red colored riverside houses.
Once we arrive at this idyllic city, we will begin our walking tour where you will learn all about the history of this town which has been the inspiration for so many Finnish artists.
We head back to a different era, discovering the tranquil cobbled streets crammed with wooden houses dating back to the middle ages. You will also see the pretty town square and Porvoo’s Cathedral where you will hear about its shocking history. Did you know that this Basilica has survived five fires?
After having toured these streets, you will have free time to try the local gastronomy, take a rest in a café, or continue exploring Porvoo by yourself.
Finally, we return to Helsinki on the bus.
