    I really enjoyed the time on the tour. Nick, the guide was energetic and funny. I love a good pun and he had plenty to hand out. He was knowledgeable and was mindful of the needs of the group. I would’ve given it an excellent rating, however, I signed up for a three hour tour and they put me in a longer one that had the lunch break after the first two hours, so I technically only got two hour tour.

The Abraham Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. is one of the city's most renowned landmarks for its architectural might as well as its historical significance.

History

Inaugurated in 1922, this monument commemorates the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, known for his leadership during the Civil War and the abolition of slavery.

How to visit the Lincoln Memorial?

Located at the west end of the National Mall, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial can be reached on foot, by public transport and aboard the Washington D.C. tour bus. 

Admission to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial is free. However, to gain a deeper insight into the monument, see it as part of a guided tour of the city!

Did you know...

At the memorial, there is a marker showing where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous I Have a Dream speech in 1963.
