Tour of Madrid + Cathedral and Royal Palace
Tour Highlights
Meet us at Oriente Plaza, where we'll set off into the heart of the capital city on a guided tour of Madrid, Almudena Cathedral, and the Royal Palace.
First up is a visit to Almudena Cathedral, which took 110 years to be constructed, and wasn't opened to the public until 1993! We'll share many more secrets and fun facts about Madrid's most important religious temple before leaving you time to enter its chapels and naves.
One of the most interesting facts about the cathedral is that, unlike other European cathedrals that face east and west, Almudena faces north and south. This is due to the fact that it was constructed in junction with the Royal Palace of Madrid, which is the next stop on the tour. We'll tour the royal chambers and abundant rooms throughout the palace for 1 hour and 40 minutes soaking up its history and grandeur. Did you know it's one of Western Europe's largest palaces, and even the world?
After immersing ourselves in two of Madrid's iconic buildings, we'll continue our adventure on foot, strolling for about 30 minutes through the city center. We'll pass by some of the absolute must-see monuments when visiting the capital city!
Then, we'll end the tour 4 hours later at Plaza Mayor, bringing our tour to an end.
