Les Trois Îlets, Les Anses d'Arlet & Le Diamant Tour

  • 4 reviews | 25 travellers
The excursion was very interesting. We recommend doing it with a guide, not only because of the transportation, but because there is a lot of history behind it that is worth knowing. Christelle our guide was lovely. You can tell that he knows the history of the island perfectly and also drives very well (something that those of us who get dizzy appreciate). She is also a great cook, because at each stop she offered us local products that she herself had cooked. Essential excursion.

South-West Martinique Tour: Les Trois Îlets, Les Anses d'Arlet & Le Diamant

At 9 am, we'll meet in front of the Bambou Hotel, where a minibus will be waiting to take us on a panoramic tour of the bay of Les Trois Îlets. Along the way, we'll see the pottery workshops, sugar cane plantations and colonial houses that characterize this area of Martinique.

During the tour, we'll make several stops to take photos and taste some typical products of Martinique. In total, we'll taste six different local drinks accompanied by snacks - delicious!

We'll continue south to explore the region of Les Anses d'Arlet. The minibus will take us to a small fishing village where you'll be enchanted by its picture-perfect views. We'll stroll around the port and visit the Church of Saint-Henri, a small 17th century church listed as a historical monument.

We'll then head to Le Diamant to visit one of its most famous viewpoints and admire the unparalleled view of the Diamond Rock, an uninhabited volanic islet. Did you know that this unique island has played an important role in the military past of Martinique? After learning about its fascinating history, we'll visit the nearby Cap 110 Memorial, a monument honouring the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Martinique.

The last stop of the day will be at a cocoa plantation, where we'll learn all about the production of cocoa on the island. What's more, we'll have the opportunity to taste some exquisite chocolate.

We'll finish the tour at 12:30 pm back at the meeting point.
