Gernika Peace Museum Ticket
Gernika Peace Museum Ticket
"Refuse to forget, refuse to seek revenge". This is the motto of the Gernika Peace Museum, a place where you'll enter into the history of this Basque town that suffered the bombing by the German Condor Legion on April 26th, 1937.
Using the Basque town of Gernika as an example, this museum tries to promote peace as the best way of resolving conflicts. Through its different rooms, you'll delve into fundamental issues such as peace in the 21st century, peace of life, negative peace, or tools for peace, among many others. This is a tour that will make you pause and reflect on the many aspects of peace and war.
What's more, with your ticket to the Gernika Peace Museum you'll be able to discover the history of the bombing through the testimonies of some of its survivors. You'll even be able to see a recreation of how that tragic day was lived in the dining room of a family from Gernika.
As you walk through the different rooms, you'll also ponder the current state of peace in the world and the influence of Picasso's piece, Gernika, on fundamental human rights.
