Cazorla Guided Tour + Olive Oil Tasting

  • 102 reviews | 638 travellers
Very enjoyable and documented visit to the town. With sense of humor. Antonio knows many historical details and applies common sense. In oil, tasting, and related issues, few people know as much. You can tell that Antonio knows what he's talking about. It's not that he studies it, like history, it's that his relationship with the world of oil is his daily life. It's difficult to ask him something he doesn't know how to answer. Although he only says what he knows, he knows a lot. The next time we come, I hope they continue offering activities.

Tour Details

At the indicated time we'll meet at Calle Gómez Calderón to start this guided tour of Cazorla. We'll spend about an hour walking around this town before we put the finishing touch to the tour by enjoying a tasting of olive oils. Let's get started!

The first thing we'll do is tell you about the historical origins of Cazorla and talk about the importance of the natural park that surrounds the town. To admire some of the town's beauty, we'll take a walk along the Cerezuelo Riverwalk. Here, we can see different species of birds, an old flour mill, and admire examples of the local flora, such as oak trees, yew trees or fig trees.

This brings us to the  bóveda del río Cerezuelo, an essential visit to Cazorla. This construction, which dates back to the 16th century, allowed the course of the river to be channelled, favouring the expansion of the town. We'll reveal the legend associated with this place and also visit the ruins of the Renaissance-style Church of Santa María de Gracia.

Finally, we'll go to a local shop to do an olive oil tasting lasting between 80 and 90 minutes. You'll learn to differentiate between the different categories of virgin olive oil by playing various sensory games that will put you to the test, especially your sense of smell and taste. You'll love it!

After 2.5 hours of activity, we'll say goodbye in the tasting room, located in the historic centre of Cazorla.
