Ponga Natural Park Day Trip
Ponga Natural Park Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Chapel of Santa Cruz in Cangas de Onís. From there, we'll set off for the Ponga Natural Park in the central-eastern sector of the Cantabrian Mountains.
When we get to this protected area, which has been declared a Biosphere Reserve, we'll try to spot different kinds of wolves and deer. In addition, if we're lucky with the weather, we may even see a European brown bear in its natural habitat.
We'll then continue our tour of the Ponga Natural Park by heading to the village of Casielles or Viboli, depending on the weather. Both villages are located in the foothills of the mountains. From there, we'll head to the Les Bedules Viewpoint, where you'll gaze out at magnificent views of the Ponga River and the Picos de Europa.
The next stop will be in the village of Sobrefoz, where we'll take a short walk through its picturesque narrow streets. You'll then have 1 hour free to get some lunch in this beautiful mountain village.
After you've had some lunch we'll set off for Sellaño, which is another beautiful village in the Asturian mountains. From here, we'll return to the meeting point in Cangas de Onís and drop you off 6.5 hours after pickup.
