Meet your guide, at the indicated time, in the Plaza España, an important square in the heart of Cádiz old town, where our walking tour of this charming city's fascinating history will begin.
Firstly, we'll hear curious facts about the origins of the city, whose foundation dates back to Phoenician times, while we head over to the Cádiz City Hall. We'll then stroll over to the Arco de los Blanco, an archway that was part of an ancient Roman wall, allowing us to discover more of the city's history. Not far from here, we'll see one of the main archaeological sites of the Barrio del Pópulo neighborhood: the famous Roman theatre of Cádiz, an emblematic monument of ancient Gadir.
Afterwards, we'll head over to the Campo del Sur promenade to get spectacular views of the Atlantic. We continue the route to the Santa Cruz Parish Church and the Cathedral of Cadiz, some of the most beautiful buildings in Cadiz's historic old town.
We'll go back in time, entering the bourgeois area of the 19th century, where the Constitution of 1812 was written. We'll see the mansions characteristic of this era in the Plaza de la Candelaria and conclude the tour in the area of the Plaza de las Flores after a jam-packed hour of sightseeing.
