At the appointed time we'll start our free tour of Buenavista del Norte at one of its most iconic places, the Plaza de Los Remedios. Let's discover the attractions of this charming coastal town in Tenerife!
Here we'll take a look at the church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, which dates back to 1513. As we listen to the church bells, we'll pass by El Granero, a building built 250 years ago where farmers used to store their harvests.
We'll continue the tour in the Calle del Chorro and we'll tell you several stories associated with the culture and evolution of this beautiful area of the island. Then we'll continue walking through its charming streets until we find the Barranco de Triana ravine, where we'll find the old washing places that were also used as watering places for the livestock.
We'll continue walking to the exact spot where Buenavista del Norte was founded, the former property of Juan Méndez "El Viejo", founder of the village. There we'll tell you about the relationship of the locality with the world of the dead and the aborigines.
The next stop on our tour will be the Cruz de Toledo, why is this place so significant for the village? The path will take us to the Plaza de San Sebastián and here we'll come across the old Convent of San Francisco, which was used as a municipal cemetery until 1946.
After an hour and a half free tour, we'll return to the starting point to say goodbye and see you next time!
