Amsterdam Jewish Quarter Museums & Synagogue Ticket

This entrance ticket to the museums and synagogue in the Jewish Quarter of Amsterdam allows you to visit the following sites at your own pace with an audio guide in English:

Historical Jewish Museum and Children's Museum

For a long time, the Netherlands was home to many Jewish citizens exiled from Spain, Portugal and other Central European countries. At the Jewish Historical Museum, you'll discover 300,000 works of art and documents from over 800 years ago that belong to the Jewish community.

You will see works by artists such as Charlotte Salomon, who painted while hiding from the Nazis, discover how the Jewish community contributed to the so-called Golden Age in the Netherlands, and learn many interesting facts about this religion and their experiences in the Netherlands. You'll also find the Children's Museum in the same place, where the youngest visitors can learn about family values and Jewish traditions in a very entertaining way.

Opening hours: Open every day, between 10 am and 5 pm.

Portuguese Synagogue

The ticket to Amsterdam's Portuguese Synagogue will give you access to one of the city's most important places of worship. Inspired by Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and built in the 17th century, the synagogue is striking with its colossal stone columns, wooden ceilings and gilded chandeliers. It also boasts one of the oldest Jewish libraries in the world, which has been declared a World Heritage Site.

Opening hours: Open every day, except Saturdays. The opening hours vary depending on the month:

  • January and December: Sunday to Thursday between 10 am and 4 pm; Fridays between 10 am and 2 pm.
