Chambord Electric Bike Tour + Villesavin Castles
Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Amboise Tourist Office and from there, we'll make our way by minibus towards the Villesavin Palace. One of the main castles in Loire awaits us!
Once we've arrived at this French Renaissance chateau, we'll set off on our electric bike tour through the surrounding forests. After cycling for around 45 minutes, we'll arrive at Chambord, the most famous chateau in the Loire Valley.
Is it true that Leonardo da Vinci himself was responsible for its design? We'll hear all about this and many more interesting facts on a guided tour of Chambord Castle, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. During the tour of this architectural jewel, we'll learn about the most important rooms in the palace, which was commissioned by King François I in the 1500s.
After visiting Chambord, you'll have an hour of free time to grab something for lunch at the palace restaurant or one of the food stalls surrounding it. After eating, we'll hop back on our bikes towards Villesavin to take yet another guided tour of a castle. The driving force behind its construction was Jean le Breton, a minister of François I and supervisor of the works at Chambord.
We'll bring the visit to this castle to an end with a tasting of typical products. We'll try delicacies such as apple juice, strawberries and cookies, made at the Chambord factory.
After the tasting in Villesavin, we'll return to the minibus and make our way back to the meeting point, where we'll be expected to arrive after 8 hours together.
